Sustainable interior trends.

Omtanke, bæredygtighed og nøjsomhed er nogle af de “buzzwords” som vinder mere og mere frem…og nu er det ikke længere bare noget vi snakker om, det er en virkelighed vi må se i øjnene er nødvendig at tage stilling til. Hvis vi skal kunne overleverer planeten til vores børn med god samvittighed. Jeg vil ikke komme med en længere udredning om, hvor mange af vores naturlige resourcer der dagligt forsvinder, for det er jeg slet ikke kompetent til, men jeg høre jungletrommerne komme nærmere og priser OMTANKE velkommen. Vi har gennem al for lang tid forbrugt uhensigtsmæssigt meget. og glemt at tænke over hvor meget forurening vi medvirker til at udsætte vores miljø for, hver gang vi vælger at købe nyt i stedet for at reparere det vi i forvejen har. Ja, jeg ved godt at jeg også optræder i nye sko…men hey…jeg er jo også bare et menneske(læs sko-glad pige)…men hvis du så mit sko skab vil du også vide at jeg passer på dem og sjældent smider ud, med mindre de er slidt helt igennem.

Men derfor var det med begejstring at jeg på Heimtextil, Frankfurt, så udstillingen af de indkomne forslag til genbrug af textiler i interør fra studerende på design-og indretningsskoler i Europa.

Thoughtfully, sustainability and austerity are some of the “buzzwords” that wins more and more attention nowadays… and now it’s no longer just something we talk about, it’s a reality we have to face, and we need to consider how to deal with. I will not give you a long list of facts of how many of our natural resources are daily disappearing, for that I am not competent, but I hear the jungle drums come closer, and welcomes SENSIBLY. We have for too long consumed inappropriately much. and forgot to think about how much pollution we expose to our environment every time we choose to buy new rather than repair the things we already have. Yes, I know that I also appear in new shoes … but hey … I’m just a human (read shoe-loving girl) … but if you saw my shoe closet you will also know that I care about them and rarely throws out unless they are completely worn out.

Therefore it was with enthusiasm that I at Heimtextil,Frankfurt, saw the exhibition of the upcycled products made by students of design and interior design schools in Europe.

Katrin Krupka won the 1. prize for her “recreate textile” where she has been working with waste textiles from the industry and made different composite materials that are biodegradable.

These furnitures made from old wood by Lars Dahlitz won the price ” recognition prize” in the catagory Object. Lars Dahlitz studies Product design at Fakultät für Angevandte Kunst Schneeberg, Germany.
