Luminous Christmas star.

Your finished guiding star.

Your finished guiding star.

Køb den her eller her eller her.

It is time for a DIY, and a Christmas one of its kind. This is brand new, so it is not part of my Christmas DIY book, but remember that you can find many more ideas in that. And now it is about time to start the Christmas fun. Buy it here or here or here.

Ledestjernen.

Luminous Christmas star.

In our Nordic home interior we swear to nature sornaments mixed with white, gray and black. I hereby give you my take on a modern beacon”. I must admit that I also like some traditional ornaments, but sometimes I am also tempted to something more simple and graphic, here fits this star perfect. And a twist on the traditional Christmas is always welcome.

All you need for this project is this.

All you need for this project is this.

Lidt sandpapir

Papir i samme størrelse som din OSB plade

Gaffa tape

Værktøj:

En boremaskine

Pensel

Blyant

Lineal

6 mm træbor

What you need:
Precision masking tape from tesa
OSB board (this is from Silvan)
Blackboard paint from Borup
A strand of lights with small light bulb (this is from the Netto)
Some sandpaper
Paper of the same size as your OSB plate
duct tape
Tool:
a drill
brush
Pencil
Ruler
6 mm wood

Sådan gør du :

  8. Prøv for en sikkerheds skyld at sætte lysene i bagfra.
Sørg for at trykke tapen meget godt fast langs kanten.

How to do it :

1. Start by sanding the worst bumps on your plate with sand paper.
2. Draw a star on the paper that matches the size of your plate.
3. Tape the template onto the front of the plate with a few pieces of your tesa tape.
4. Then draw your star with a pencil.
5. In this light chain there is 5 cm between each bulb, goals up and double check that it is the same for your string lights. Now try to figure out how to distribute the candles best on your star.
Mark the drilling holes.
6. Drill all the holes in your plate from the front.
Be sure to have a surface under your plate, so you do not drill into the floor or tabletop.
7. Remove the worst wood chips, when all the holes are drilled.
8. To be sure the bulbs fits your holes, try to stick them in the holes before you paint..
9. Now turn the plate and set Precision masking tape from tesa along your star. Be sure to press the tape very firmly along the edge. OSB plate is very bumpy so it is important to use a good tape like this, otherwise you run the risk that it will not be a sharp edge.
10. Now paint the star with your blackboard paint.
11. Let it dry and when dry mounte the lights from behind. Connectors all of the small light bulbs through the holes from the back. Put it all in place with duct tape.
12. Now you just have to put the batteries in the light chain and find the perfect place in your home for the Christmas star.
